Music is very important to Craptastic’s collective soul. Also, the band Collective Soul is very important to Craptastic. One of our members had his first kiss to the tune of their hit “Shine” back in 2007. But since the Soul has decided to live like kings of their massive royalty checks and stop making art, Craptastic has had to spin some other discs to stir our creative energy.
So the other day, we shut all the blinds, turned off all the lights, and put on the new 30 Seconds to Mars disc, This is War. We listened from start to finish and when it was done, the three of us started brainstorming. In about 30 seconds, we had a full treatment for a video. So we want to officially offer our services to direct the new 30STM video. If you know their people or are their people, hook this up. Or don’t. This collaboration will happen anyway because of the nature of fate.
Craptastic/30STM VIDEO TREATMENT
We open on Jared Leto. He is on a mountain, full of angst. Jared is full of angst, not the mountain. The mountain is also angsty though. Not as much as Jared though. We don’t know what he’s angsty about YET…….. We cut to a teenager arguing with his father. Now Jared Leto is at a birthday party, with a banner that says “HAPPY 38th JARED!!!! Jared wrecks the party up because he doesn’t like being so old. That teenager from before is now punching a mirror. We cut back to Leto, who is setting fire to an effigy of Jared Leto. Leto then spreads the ashes of his own effigy over his bandmates. So they’re all ash covered but still playing their instruments. Close on Jared Leto face, insert CGI teardrop. The End……
But not really the end because a week after watching the video, the viewer will receive a hand written note in the mail. It will read, “You’re welcome, Jared Leto.” The Real End.
